Amy Benac, M.S., L.Ac.

Amy has been practicing acupuncture for over a decade. She opened New Paltz Community Acupuncture in 2009 to offer lower-cost sessions to help make the vast healing benefits of acupuncture more accessible. It brings her great joy to help others to heal and live their lives more fully.

Amy graduated with Honors from Tri-State College of Acupuncture where she was trained in 3 styles of acupuncture - Traditional Chinese Medicine, Acupuncture Physical Medicine, and a Japanese style developed by Kiiko Matsumoto. She is also an Addiction Detox Specialist through the National Acupuncture Detoxification Association. She will draw upon the wisdom and techniques of one of these styles or she will use an integrated approach incorporating aspects of a few of them to create unique treatments for your individual needs. Amy is also certified as a Holistic Health Coach through the Institute of Integrative Nutrition. Her post-graduate acupuncture trainings have been focused in the areas of women’s health, fertility, labor & delivery, addiction, and cancer.

Amy has lived in New Paltz for over 30 years and has come to regard its progressive, eclectic community and its extraordinary mountains as her beloved home.
